When should I start using tattoo aftercare products?
Start immediately after your session. Once your artist wraps you up and sends you home, that's when aftercare begins. Here's a simple breakdown:

- Days 1 through full healing: Balancing Cream to keep skin moisturized and support the healing process

How do I use the Balancing Cream?
Apply a thin layer to your clean, healing tattoo 2 to 3 times daily. You don't need much — a little goes a long way. The goal is to keep skin moisturized without suffocating it. If your tattoo feels tight or looks dry, it's time to reapply.
Can I use Lusty Dragon products on old or healed tattoos?
Absolutely. The Revitalizing Scrub is specifically designed for healed tattoos — it exfoliates dead skin, helps ink look brighter, and keeps tattooed skin healthy over time. The Balancing Cream also works great as a daily moisturizer on healed tattoos, especially in dry seasons.
Can I use these products on sensitive skin?

Healing & Aftercare Tips
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
Surface healing (the top layer of skin) typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. Full deep healing — where the deeper layers of skin recover and the ink fully settles — can take 3 to 6 months depending on placement, size, and how well you care for it. Consistent aftercare throughout the entire process makes a real difference in how your tattoo looks long term.
Why is my tattoo peeling? Is that normal?
Completely normal. Peeling usually begins around days 3 to 7 and is your skin shedding the damaged outer layer. Do not pick or peel it — let it come off naturally. Keep the area moisturized with Balancing Cream and avoid soaking it in water. The peeling phase is temporary and a healthy sign your skin is healing.
What should I avoid during tattoo healing?
- Direct sun exposure on the healing tattoo
- Soaking in pools, hot tubs, or baths
- Picking or scratching peeling skin
- Applying petroleum-based products that clog pores
- Tight clothing rubbing against the tattooed area
Can I work out after getting a tattoo?
Light activity is generally fine, but sweating heavily on a fresh tattoo can introduce bacteria and irritate healing skin. Give it at least 48 to 72 hours before intense exercise, and always clean the tattooed area gently after sweating.
